BACK INTAKE
M5 Cold Air Intake and Brake Cooling Duct System

This is a Cold Air Intake System that will raise your M5 performance up 25whp and 39.18 ft/lbs at the rear wheels when measured on a dyno. It is a new level of innovative engineering, maintaining a factory like appearance. The low restriction K&N air filters are easy to service just like the factory.
The additional front opening has a ram air effect delivering a constant flow of cool air to the intakes. The increased air flow is also attributed to larger and longer air intake tracts.
Operational ducts for front brake cooling are now achieved with the system installed. Cool air is now delivered to the front brakes, a complementing brake upgrade for the new found vigor.

This package includes:

  • +25 WHP at the rear wheels as measured on a dyno
  • Ram air intake system
  • Center grill cover with 2 ram air funnels
  • Factory like appearance
  • Full, functional Brake cooling ducts
  • 2 for 1 deal (Performance + Improved Braking)
  • 2 low restriction K&N air filters

Cold Air Intake System - 325i (1992-1995), 328i (1996-1998), M3 (1995-1999)

Experience the Ultimate in Cold Air Intakes by installing the Active Autowerke CAIS. The hi-flow air filter with the intake runner will optimize the proper air flow for peak performance. The heavy, double insulated CAIS walls will help maintain the colder air intake charge even under extreme hot, humid conditions. A black powder-coated grill cover is also included which adds a finishing touch to the engine bay. This is where "form comes with function".
This package includes:

  • AA High Flow Revised Generation II Intake
  • Intake runner
  • Hi-flow air filter
  • K&N Hi-flow air filter
  • AA Grill cover with a black powder coating
  • All mounting hardware with instructions
AA CAIS Bump Up Kit - 1995 M3 with 3.5" HFM

Already own an Active CAIS for a 95' E36 M3 with the stock 3.0" HFM, and would like to upgrade to a CAIS capable of holding a 3.5" HFM? All you need is the AA CAIS Bump Up Kit. You will still retain your existing AA CAIS with insulated side panels and grill cover. You do not need to purchase another separate air intake system. Just remove the intake runner, existing hose with clamps and air filter. Then install the components from the AA CAIS Bump Up Kit (3.5 HFM not included).
This kit is matched for the AA Large HFM and is the only CAIS that can convert readily from 3.0" to 3.5". This kit includes:
  • AA High Flow 3.5" Intake Runner
  • Hi flow 3.5" air filter
  • Silicone hose with clamps
  • All mounting hardware with instructions
  • Grill cover not included with Bump Up Kit
  • Optional, NOT included - HFM 3.5",CNC Adaptor
CAIS for 1995 M3 with 3.5" HFM

Looking for a Cold Air Intake that has the performance to complement a 3.5" Air Mass Meter on a 95' M3 E36. This package includes:
  • AA High Flow 3.5" Intake Runner
  • Hi flow 3.5" air filter
  • AA CAIS with insulated panels
  • AA Grill cover
  • All mounting hardware with instructions
  • Optional, NOT included - HFM 3.5",CNC Adaptor
Isolated and Cold
What's great about the AA 3.5 CAIS is that it is matched for the AA Large HFM KIt. It creates unrestricted airflow for additional horsepower, and maintains this increase through the insulated design walls even after hours of driving.

The insulated panel prevent radiating heat from transferring into the CAIS even after the engine temperature rises dramatically.
E36 Air Intake Filter Replacement - 1992-1995 325i, 1996-1998 328i, 1995-1999 M3

Having a colder air intake is essential for performance. Maintaining a clean air intake increases performance and helps preserve engine longevity against frictional wear as well. Cleaning the same air filter is ok, but can be impractical at times.
The correct procedure to clean a gauze type filter element is to use:
  • warm water with soap to separate dirt particles from the filter element
  • dry the gauze filter element thoroughly, then lightly coat the filter surface with a thin film of oil. This oil helps trap micro dirt particles. Problems can occur if the filter element is not properly dried.
As more air is being drawn into the engine, moisture particles present in the gauze material will become attached to the sensing membrane present in the air mass sensor. CHECK ENGINE lights will appear, or possible damage to the air mass sensor.
Solution. Wash the existing filter element and do not drive the car until element is adequately dried or purchase an extra air filter replacement. Install the extra filter element at will and drive away with confidence (Wash, clean and prepare the old filter to be used as a later replacement).
